Psalm 13

Holy One, are you forgetting about me?
For how long? Forever?

How long will you hide your face from me?

How long must I examine my soul?
How long will sorrow fill my heart?
How long will this alienation last?

Examine me.

Answer me.

O Holy One, my Godde,
Show me your presence
or I will sleep in death.

I am overcome,

I am undone.

How does joy exist within pain?
...I trust in your kindness.
My heart rejoices in your salvation.

I sing to the Holy One, for Godde blesses me!

  1. Psalm 12
    Psalm 12

    Holy One,
save us. There is no faith.
    What is loyalty?

    Lies are offered to neighbors,
    lips shape flattering comments
    while the heart harbors deception.

Holy One, still these flattering lips
    silence this boastful tongue.
    Silence the conceit that says:
    “My speech is most compelling,
my argument will justify me –
    who is better than me?”

    “I will arise now,”
    the Holy One says,
“I hear the groans of those in need,
I see how the poor are being robbed.
I will protect those who are being abused.”

The words of the Holy One are pure,
    like silver purified in fire
like silver which has been refined seven times over.

    Holy One, protect us,
    encircle wickedness continuously;
too often we humans value hateful things above all else.
